SPEHA Board Voted on Resolution Opposing the Conversion of Embassy Suites to Multi-Use Housing
Thank you to everyone who attended the HOA meeting on Wednesday and the Community Information meeting on Saturday.
Based on the lack of concrete information provided at the community meeting yesterday and the fact that there is a last-minute City Council vote occurring on Monday with no reasonable amount of time to provide community input, the Board has decided to take a stance of opposing the city’s proposal for the Embassy Suites. Please read through the Resolution below with our reasons for opposition.
We also learned Friday that the City Council added a last-minute public hearing on Monday, December 18, at 5:30 pm for the following:
A resolution approving a proposed Assignment and Amendment to Purchase Agreement among the City and County of Denver, East Hampden Hotel Fee, LLC and Hampden Heart, LLC for the City to acquire real property located at 7525 E. Hampden Avenue, in Council District 4. Approves an Assignment and Amendment to the Purchase and Sale Agreement with East Hampden Hotel Fee, LLC, Hampden Heart, LLC for $30,900,000 and a term ending on 3-31-2024 for the property located at 7525 East Hampden Avenue, in Council District 4.
If you would like your voice heard, you can sign up to speak at the public hearing. Go to Giving Input,
Click Here. You must sign up between 3 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday. Then Go to Sign Up To Speak,
Click Here. Or submit a written testimony by 3 pm on Monday.
We encourage all of our neighbors to reach out to the city council to voice your opinion on the proposal:
