Southmoor Park Improvements are underway.

Denver Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that construction at Southmoor Park will begin the week of February 2, 2026, with completion anticipated by fall 2026. For safety, portions of the park will be fenced off for the duration of the project. The park improvements were designed in collaboration with the community in 2025 and include the installation of accessible sidewalks, playground renovations, shade structure rehabilitation, a reconstructed basketball court, new landscape boulders, irrigation improvements, landscape transformation, picnic area improvements, signage, and site furnishings. The project is funded through Denver Parks Legacy Funds, Capital Funds, and the Elevate Denver Bond.

New 20mph Signs on Local Streets Updated
Posted on Apr 4th, 2025
Dear Registered Neighborhood Organizations,

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure began installing new 20mph signs on local streets citywide. By updating these signs and reducing the speed limit on our local streets, we want to draw attention to the broader issue of speed and help create a culture of safety in our neighborhoods, where we are more likely to see people walking and biking.

As part of our strategy moving forward, we plan to reduce the overall number of signs out now, with a focus on areas that enter local streets from our arterial streets. We will also post gateway signs as people enter Denver off the highway, stating the speed limit on local roads is 20 mph.  We anticipate that removing/replacing these signs will take up to 3 years to implement, from the time we begin in full.
